GROOVY TIMES
Hi, Hopefully you've somehow stumbled here and aren't mad about it. Maybe we grab a coffee, maybe we create some content together? I'd like to think I'm an unscripted storyteller first, a subject matter expert second—covering a variety of beats + themes. And while I have favorites (who doesn't?), I'm always up for learning about new topics + ideas. Taking on stories of outlying travel and adventure, creatives in the outdoors, good gear, good food, good times + good humans really get me going. A nexus of any of the above is even better.
Things that keep the proverbial lights on:
Things that keep the proverbial lights on:
- Making complex topics feel like a conversation with a cool friend or a trusted local.
- Creating anecdotes + analogies that make you go "ahaaa".
- Writing copy that has a sense of humanity, style + personality (don't expect it to read like it was approved by a committee— unless you really want me to).
- Stringing together carefully chosen words that entertain + make you feel something, initiate further conversation or inspire you to take action (not just inform you or rank for SEO—although I'll do that too, don't worry).
- Hooking a reader beyond their 5-second attention span (kudos if you've gotten this far) with candid, pithy + snappy syntax—often weaved with an undertone of wit + wink.
Whether on the road, on the water or in the studio, I keep myself out of trouble by: contributing editorial features, product descriptions, listicles, gear guides + more for both print + digital publications. I've also been known to write/edit advertorials, newsletters, documentary scripts, web copy + blogs for various brands + organizations. On the less creative front, I don't mind the admin work that tends to come with the territory: making content outlines, research or interviewing, proofing, managing content calendars/trackers + keeping a project humming along like a well-oiled rig.
In the moments I’m not inscribing or nailing down the next great pitch, you'll likely find me hunting down another cup of coffee. Maybe flipping through stacks of old magazines, or feverishly searching for empty waves. Probably chatting up the locals somewhere fun. Most definitely racing towards a deadline. Wherever I am, I'm happy you're here—let's groove.
Long live print.
